Powdered Sencha Green Tea

A staple of daily life in Japan, sencha is known for its light, delicate character—distinct from the richer, more umami-forward profile of matcha. This green tea is crafted from Saemidori, one of Japan’s most prized cultivars, celebrated for its vibrant color, crisp flavor, and natural sweetness. The leaves are gently steamed shortly after harvest to preserve their vivid green hue and fresh, vegetal notes.
About the farmer: Originally a fruit and vegetable farmer, Irie-san discovered the nourishing qualities of green tea following a period of ill health. Inspired by its benefits, he set out to cultivate the healthiest tea possible on his two-hectare farm in Fukuoka Prefecture. Today, he and his team mentor a small group of young, dedicated growers in organic farming, working toward a shared vision: transforming their hometown of Kuroki-cho into a fully organic community.

Origin: Yame, Fukuoka, Kyushu Island, Japan
Specifications: 40 g
Use:
- Use 1 tsp of powdered sencha per 8.5 oz. (250 mL) of cold water.
- Shake well until evenly mixed and no powder remains settled.
- Pour through a fine-mesh sieve or filter into a cup. Enjoy over ice!
