Lumos Pro Duo Pen

Too many pens and their refills are disposable by design. Much like the makers of printer ink cartridges, pen companies want you to buy into their format so they can keep selling you replacement pens or refills repeatedly. It's good for their business, but it's bad for the planet and stifles creativity.

Introducing the Lumos. Lumos is a beautiful and infinitely refillable fineliner, writing, and brush pen that comes with 11 interchangeable tips. It features two different pens in one body, allowing you to easily change between nibs and ink colors on either side. With an exceptionally durable finish, this pen is hard wearing for everyday use. 

The Lumos Pro comes with a 3 ml of sample of black ink and will work with most classic fountain pen-friendly inks as well as waterproof pigment inks. We offer Tom's Studio Fountain Pen inks, which are ideal. Calligraphy inks are not compatible. (Calligraphy ink has an acrylic binder which will block the pen).

Some tips regarding inks:

• All nibs will work with most fountain pen inks except the most experimental of inks (think shimmer and iridescent). The folks at Tom's Studio have tried a LOT and haven't found one that doesn't work well. Experiment and find the inks that work best for you!
• Avoid using pigment ink in the brush, chisel, and felt tip as it will clog.
• If in doubt, use ink designed for fountain pens or make sure that it's dye based. Indian, acrylic, and gouache-based inks will clog the pen. 

Care: Werecommend regularly cleaning your pen in a bowl of warm, soapy water to remove any residual ink. Make sure you thoroughly dry any components before reinserting them into the pen.  There shouldn't be any ink in the threaded parts of the pen. To lubricate your pen, use silicone grease, which creates a good seal between the components and will maintain the ink flow nicely.
