Use: How to operate the "de Gaulle" corkscrew:

  1. Place the tip of the worm in an upright position at the centre of the cork.
    2. Twist the handle without touching the “wings”, or levers, so that they rise up by themselves.
    3. Push both levers down to extract the cork from the bottle’s neck.

Further Reading:  An iconic tool in L'Atelier Du Vin's range since 1970, the "de Gaulle" is named after General Charles de Gaulle. It is said that he often raised his arms in the air when addressing a crowd.
