Baking soda is a versatile household staple: biodegradable, economical, and free from preservatives. Known for its whitening and deodorizing properties, it’s an effective natural cleaner for the bathroom, kitchen, and laundry room.

With countless uses around the home, baking soda can be sprinkled over carpets and rugs to neutralize odors and absorb trapped smells. Combined with Marius Fabre Olive Oil Black Soap it creates a powerful cleaning paste for scrubbing grout, removing soap scum and hard water stains from tubs and faucets, or cutting through stubborn grease on cooktops. Mixed with Marseille Soap Flakes, it creates a homemade washing powder that boosts detergent performance and helps whiten clothes.

Use
  • For carpets, rugs, and mattresses:  Dust dry baking soda over carpet or mattress. Let sit for 15-30 minutes, then vacuum thoroughly. 
  • For cleaning paste:  Add enough water to dry baking soda to create a runny toothpaste-like consistency. For extra grease-cutting power, mix in a few drops of dish soap.
  • For cleaning spray:  Dilute 1 tablespoon of black soap and 1 teaspoon of baking soda in 5 liters of water. Use to wash surfaces with a cloth or sponge, then wipe clean. No rinsing needed.
  • For laundry:  Combine 2 oz. (60 g) of Marseille Soap Flakes with 1 tablespoon of baking soda. Pour in 2 liters of very hot water and shake well. Add to the main detergent compartment of your washing machine.
Care
  • Do not use on aluminum, waxed surfaces, or delicate stone such as marble without testing first. Always test on a small, inconspicuous area before use.
  • Keep out of reach of children and pets.
  • Avoid contact with eyes. If contact occurs, rinse thoroughly with water.
  • Do not mix with strong acids or chemical cleaners unless directed.
  • Store in a cool, dry place.
