Made with hot water, warming spices, and your favorite spirit, the hot toddy is a classic companion for a cold snowy afternoon. The combination of spice and citrus creates a drink that's both comforting and aromatic—a simple pleasure that takes the chill out of any winter day.

The Hot Toddy

1.5 oz. bourbon or rye (or any dark spirit including aged rum or Cognac)

0.75 oz. honey or maple syrup

4-5 oz. hot water

Add spirit and honey or maple syrup to a mug or rocks glass. Top with hot water and stir gently to dissolve honey or maple syrup. Garnish with a lemon wheel and a cinnamon stick.
