Cocktail of the Month: Matcha Highball
This cocktail feels especially springlike to us with its verdant color and earthy matcha undertones. Lemon juice adds a brightness that lifts the matcha and Japanese whisky, resulting in a beautifully balanced sip.
We’ve mixed it in our Yukiwa Baron shaker. The straight lines are ideal for a hard shake, necessary in this cocktail to really incorporate the matcha powder.
Matcha Highball
2 oz. Japanese whisky
0.5 oz. freshly squeezed lemon juice
0.5 oz. Jack Rudy Demerara Syrup
0.25 tsp matcha powder
club soda
lemon twist for garnish
Combine the first four ingredients in a shaker filled with ice and shake vigorously. Strain into a highball glass filled with ice and top with club soda. Garnish with a lemon twist.
