Cast Iron Skillet 8.5" with Walnut Handle

Regular price $120.00

Handcrafted in Sweden, this 8.5-inch cast iron skillet is a compact, everyday pan for frying eggs, toasting spices, sautéing vegetables, or preparing a meal for one. Cast iron holds and distributes heat beautifully, while developing a natural, easy-release surface that gets better with use.

The skillet is fitted with an FSC-certified walnut handle that stays cool on the stovetop and feels comfortable in the hand. Its smaller size makes it particularly useful when a full-size skillet is more than you need, while a thick, warp-resistant base provides steady, even heat.

Made for years of regular use, it's a thoughtfully crafted piece of cookware that combines the durability of cast iron with the warmth and beauty of natural wood.

    Use
    • All Skeppshult cookware works on induction, gas, electric, and ceramic cooktops. The extra-thick base gives excellent contact and stability, especially on induction.
    • Medium heat is best. Cast iron retains heat so well that there’s rarely a need to go high. Let your pan preheat gradually for even, beautiful results.
    • Not oven-safe, as the wood handle may burn.

    Care
    • No seasoning required—Skeppshult pans come pre-seasoned and ready to cook.
    • Clean with warm water and a soft brush or cloth. There's no need for soap, but a small drop of mild dish soap is okay if needed.
    • Avoid soaking the pan or using harsh detergents, steel wool, or the dishwasher. Try the BBQ-AID Chain Mail Scrubber for stuck-on bits.
    • Dry thoroughly after washing to prevent rust.
    • Lightly oil after drying if you like, though it’s optional.
    • To refresh the seasoning, heat the pan, rub in a thin layer of oil, and let it smoke gently on the stovetop for a few minutes. No oven needed.

Every Skeppshult pan is made by hand in the same small village where the company began in 1906. Tucked away in Småland, Southern Sweden, the factory handles every step of production in-house, including pouring, finishing, seasoning, and inspecting. No shortcuts. No outsourcing. Just honest craftsmanship.

Not sure how to pronounce it? It’s Shep-sult—the name of the village, and the company that’s proudly called it home for over a century.
