Albacore Tuna with Soy Ginger

Regular price $8.99

A delicious addition to Fishwife's gourmet tinned seafood lineup, this Albacore Tuna with Soy Ginger features premium wild-caught tuna and bright, umami-rich ingredients—delivering a perfectly savory experience in every can.

Fishwife's albacore is pole-and-line caught in the Bay of Biscay and off the coast of South Africa by small-boat fishermen, in partnership with local fisheries known for landing exceptionally high-quality fish. It's hand-packed with a rich soy ginger sauce, made with gluten-free soy sauce, fresh garlic and ginger, olive oil, and fragrant leek, finished with a hint of sesame oil for a deeply savory, aromatic bite.

The conservas  tradition refers to the long-standing craft of preserving seafood by canning it at peak freshness in high-quality oils, brines, or sauces. It’s not just about shelf life—it’s treated as a culinary art. Each tin is hand-packed at a traditional cannery in Northwest Spain, founded in 1869, reflecting this time-honored approach with carefully prepared fish that highlights its natural flavor, depth, and craftsmanship.

What is a fishwife?  The term "fishwife" dates back to the 16th century, when it was used to describe the wives of fishermen who sold their fishy wares at the market. It later evolved into an insult for loud, foul-mouthed women.
