Originally made from barley, Orgeat Syrup (from the French word for barley: orge) is an aromatic concentrate of fruit from the wild almond tree combined with orange blossom. The taste is strongly almond, with a subtle kiss of orange blossom. Orgeat syrup can be used in many recipes. It works well in a classic Mai Tai, but also adds interest to tequila and mezcal.
