Materials:  aluminum upper body, stainless steel base

Made by:  Ilsa

Made in:  Spain

Specifications:

  • 7.3" H x 6.4" W x 4" D
  • 6 espresso-cup capacity
  • 10 oz

Use:  Before using the espresso maker, it should be carefully washed without any detergents - use baking soda or vinegar diluted in water instead. In order to prime the espresso maker, we recommend discarding the first cups of coffee.

To brew espresso:

  • Disassemble the parts: the bottom chamber (water reservoir), filter basket, and top chamber.
  • Fill the bottom chamber with cold water up to just below the safety valve. Avoid overfilling, as this could cause water to overflow during brewing.
  • Place the filter basket into the bottom chamber. Add freshly ground espresso coffee into the filter basket, leveling it off with a flat edge. Do not press the coffee down; simply let it sit loose in the filter.
  • Carefully place the top chamber on the bottom chamber, ensuring it’s securely attached. Tighten the top without over tightening to avoid damaging the seal.
    • For Gas and Electric Stoves:  Place the espresso maker directly on the burner. Use a small burner on medium heat to avoid overheating and burning the coffee.
    • For Induction Cookers:  Place it on the induction stove and select medium heat.
  • As the water heats, it will create pressure and force the water through the coffee grounds, producing espresso in the top chamber. You'll hear a bubbling sound when the brewing is nearly finished.
  • Once the bubbling sound diminishes, signaling the end of brewing, immediately remove the espresso maker from the heat to prevent over-extraction and bitterness.
  • Carefully open the espresso maker and pour the freshly brewed espresso into your cup. Enjoy!

Care:  Allow the espresso maker to cool before disassembling. Clean each part thoroughly with warm water. Do not use soap as it may affect the taste of future brews. Dry all parts completely before reassembling.
