The Hobonichi Techo HON has the same contents as the Techo Cousin A5 book, but does not require a separate cover. The hardcover design gives it a book-like feel. The year is stamped in foil on the spine, so that previous year’s HON can be easily identified when stored on a bookshelf.
Featuring small motifs woven into bowtie material, this HON is part of Hobonichi's popular Bow & Tie series. Sushi is a bright yellow cover with various types of sushi woven into the material. Each tiny sushi design, whether it’s sea urchin with a side of pickled ginger or tamago, is depicted in charming detail on a colorful plate.
Hobonichi's planner books incorporate thoughtful design elements refined through years of customer feedback. Each feature, from the width of the grid lines to the rounded page corners, is carefully considered to enhance usability. The thread-stitched binding, reinforced with flexible materials, ensures the planner lays flat when open, offering both durability and ease of use. An included pencil board serves both as a page marker and as a hard-surface with which to write on.
Each day is given its own page in the HON, segmented on the left-hand side in time-of-day increments. At the top of each page is a row of check boxes, suitable for a daily to-do list or for habit tracking, and at the bottom are Hobonichi's signature quotes. Pages feature a 3.7mm grid, and each month's pages are a different color. Monthly calendars precede the daily pages.
One of the standout attributes of the Techo HON is its use of Tomoe River paper. This exceptional paper is both thin and strong, allowing the planner to hold many pages without becoming bulky. While Tomoe River paper is designed for all kinds of pens, including fountain pens, we do find that some inks need a few moments of drying time to avoid smudging.
