Cocktail of the Month: Perfect Manhattan
In honor of the city that never sleeps, we'd like to share a recipe for the most “New York” of cocktails: the Manhattan. Bold and elegant, it remains one of the most iconic cocktails ever poured.

We like this recipe from The Waldorf Astoria Bar Book, as it uses both sweet and dry vermouth for a nuanced twist on the classic. Don’t have both? Just substitute 0.75 oz. of your favorite in its place.
Perfect Manhattan
2 oz. straight rye whiskey
0.75 oz. extra dry vermouth
0.75 oz. sweet vermouth
2 dashes orange bitters
Add all ingredients to a mixing glass. Add ice and stir for 30 seconds. Strain into chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with lemon peel or a bourbon cherry.
