With proper care, your wool products can last for many years to come!

The Wool

Öjbro's products are made from natural materials, and the yarns they use come from the naturally elastic and soft wool of the merino sheep. They ensure that all the merino wool that is used is non-mulesing, which means that the well-being of the sheep is always taken into account. In their socks, they mix the wool with a small amount of nylon to increase durability, as well as elastane (spandex) to give them a good fit.

How to Care for Your Öjbro Woolens

Wool has good self-cleaning properties, so airing it out is often enough to freshen up your knitted socks, hats, or mittens—preferably outdoors when it is damp!

When you need to wash your product, always follow the washing instructions on the label and the following washing symbols:

Machine wash

Do not tumble dry

Lay flat to dry

No bleach

Do not iron

Machine Washing Instructions

Machine wash on a gentle cycle on cool. This will help preserve the shape and fibers of the product. Skip the spin cycle and instead lay the product on a flat towel, roll it up, and squeeze out excess water.

Shape your socks or mittens while wet and let them dry flat. If your washing machine does not have a gentle cycle, we recommend that you wash the product by hand.

Tip: Place the product in a laundry bag or pillowcase and use a liquid detergent specifically for wool to further protect the fibers. A wool detergent makes a difference for long-term durability.

What To Do If Your Woolens Get Pilly

Pills are small lumps formed by excess fibers from natural yarns. When you wear your product, the fibers are exposed to abrasion and can become matted. Pills are easy to remove by using your fingers or brushing gently with a Sweater Stone or Lint Comb. If you take care of your products, pilling will stop after a while as no excess fibers remain. Avoid using battery operated pill removers, as they can damage your Ojbro clothing by cutting off the fibers, which can cause new pills to appear.
