Don't let your pocket knives and fish hooks live a dull life. This high-grade, natural sharpening stone is made from novaculite stone quarried in the Ouachita Mountains of Central Arkansas.

Novaculite, only found in North America, is a very dense stone that makes for a perfect whetstone for sharpening knives, hooks and other tools.

Use

Best when used with quality honing oil.

  1. Put a small amount of honing oil on your stone. Lay your blade flat on the stone with the cutting edge of the knife facing away from you.
  2. Tilt the back of the blade up to approximately a 23° angle.
  3. Push the knife away from you, like you are trying to carve a thin slice off the top of the stone. Repeat this stroke three times.
  4. Repeat these steps for the other side of the blade.
