Perpétue (1813-1858) was the grandmother of Joseph Opinel, creator of the Opinel pocket knife and founder of the company in 1890. Working alongside her husband, Victor-Amedee, she forged nails in the heart of the French Alps. She appreciated simple objects, timeless aesthetic, and durability.
