The Speedy Stitcher® was originally patented in 1909 by inventor Francis Stewart of Central Massachusetts, and it has remained in steady demand for over a century.

The Speedy Stitcher is still manufactured in the USA, with nearly all USA-made components like wood handles from Maine, metal bobbins and caps from Massachusetts, and thread from the Carolinas. Each awl is assembled and packed by hand, reflecting a continued commitment to craftsmanship and quality.
