Blue Steel Higonokami Folding Knife

This minimalist knife features no locking mechanism, relying instead on the stiffness of the joint to keep the blade securely closed. Also available in SK steel with a nickel handle, it embodies the straightforward, functional design that has made the Higonokami a Japanese classic for over a century.

Niwaki's Higo knives are handmade by Kanekoma, fifth-generation knife makers based in Miki, Hyogo Prefecture, who are the last remaining licensed makers of true Higonokami knives. Specifications:

Use:  This knife does not have a locking mechanism—rather, it relies on the tension of the joint to secure the blade closed. Should the joint loosen over time, it can be tightened by gently tapping on the rivet with a hammer. We recommend using a brass tip hammer to prevent damage, or placing a small piece of cloth in-between the hammer and knife before striking.

Store in its folded position in a secure place away from children and pets.
