Vegetable Brush, Beechwood

Brushing vegetables instead of peeling helps retain nutrients concentrated in the skin. The Andrée Jardin vegetable brush, made from natural materials, has two bristle types: a firm side (bassine and tampico) for scrubbing hardy vegetables like carrots and potatoes, and a softer tampico-only side for gentler produce like zucchini and apples. A cotton hanging loop makes storage and drying simple—key for maintaining natural fiber tools.

Materials:  beechwood, bassine, tampico

Made by:  Andrée Jardin

Made in:  France

Specifications:  4.8" x 1.8" x 1.8"

Care:  Rinse the brush after each use and hang to dry. Occasionally wash the brush with vinegar or soapy water, rinse thoroughly, and air dry.

Household brushes made of wood perform best when they're allowed to dry thoroughly between uses. They should never be left to soak in water as this can cause the wood to crack.

Over time, wooden brushes may develop dark spots. This is often confused for mold but is actually due to oxidation and is harmless to both the brush and its user.

Cracks will eventually occur in any wooden brush that's used in water and this is OK and to be expected! Your brush will still function with cracks. If bristles become loose, simply wiggle them out and compost them.
