Weeding Hoe

Niwaki's one-handed weeding hoe is the enemy of unwanted weeds anywhere. This cleverly designed tool slices through weeds in flower beds or vegetable gardens, making quick work of the task. It's also useful for digging out rows for seeds. Available as a right-handed tool or left-handed.

Materials:  carbon steel, wood handle, vinyl sheath

Made by: Niwaki

Made in: Japan

  • 13" x 5" x 1" (330 x 126 x 25mm)
  • 5" (126mm) blade

Care:  Carbon steel is very hard and retains its sharpness better than stainless steel, however, it is more prone to rusting and must be treated with a little more care. If you are using the hoe for an extended weeding session, we recommend keeping a clean, dry cloth handy and giving the blade an occasional wipe, especially if it's getting wet.

After using, remove leaf residue, rust and gunk with a Crean Mate and water. Dry with a clean cloth and wipe with Camellia oil. Store in a dry place.

You can keep your snips working properly by remembering the following:

  • Japanese steel is hard and sharp, and can be more brittle than some people are used to - it will chip if abused.
  • Do not cut wire, metal, stone, plastic or any other hard material (even bamboo fibres and some very hard woods, especially knots and burrs, can damage steel edges).
