It’s a well-known fact that the holidays come early in retail, and Boston General Store is no exception. Well before the first apples of fall are picked and the first pumpkins carved, we are busy planning our holiday offerings and carefully selecting products that meet our criteria for well-made, thoughtful gifts. As the weather gets cooler, we eagerly await a sign that it’s time to bring the holiday spirit to our shops in Coolidge Corner and Dedham Square. It could be a dusting of the first snow, or a particularly wintery smell in the air one fall morning. Sometimes, it’s a shipment of Christmas ornaments arriving on our doorstep that are just too good to keep to ourselves. Whatever puts us in the mood, we always look forward to welcoming you into our store with a cheerful wreath and a warm greeting, and our hope is to present you with a shopping experience that hearkens back to the days when folks could shop for everyone on their list at their local Main Street shops. And if you can’t shop with us in person, then we welcome you to shop our website from the comfort of your home. IN-STORE PICKUP
Do you live near one of our stores? Order online and select in-store pickup during checkout. We can gift wrap your purchase and include a personalized note so that everything is ready to go when you stop in.
EXTENDED STORE HOURS
Our shops get busier at this time of year, and in years past we have embraced the busy bustle of crowds. This year, we need to be mindful of keeping everyone safe, and as such, we have extended store hours in both locations to help manage occupancy and give everyone an opportunity to enjoy the full holiday shopping experience.
Coolidge Corner will be open Monday–Friday 11am–7pm, Saturday 10am–7pm, and Sunday 11am–6pm.
Dedham will be open 10am–6pm every day (including previously closed Sundays and Mondays.)
SHIP IT!
Did you know that we offer free shipping in the US on orders over $35? We can ship to you or directly to your gift recipient— just specify shipping details during checkout. While we are pretty zippy when it comes to packing up orders, be sure to leave a bit more time to let the shipping carriers do their thing this year. We think they’re going to be busy!
