A simple way to make cold brew coffee. By using 80g of course ground coffee and 1000ml of water you can create 1000ml of cold brew concentrate at home. Leave the grounds steeping for 12 hours and then combine with water. Pour the cold brew over ice and enjoy with milk or black. A great summer time treat.
Brewing with cold water avoids extraction of bitter oils and acids which are present when brewed at high temperature. Cold water also preserves flavor compounds which are generally broken down when brewed at high temperature.
