Chocolate Chip cookies originated in the 1930’s in Whitman, Massachusetts. Ruth Wakefield, the creator, likely had no idea her recipe would become a beloved American favorite!
While there are many pre-baked cookies on the market, there is simply no experience like baking your own – the aroma as they bake, the taste of warm cookies from the oven, the cookie treat when cool.
The folks at Old School Mill, Inc. have created a Chocolate Chip Cookie Mix for you to make at home which will not disappoint. Just add an egg and some butter and you're on your way to nostalgic, tasty goodness!
1 bag Chocolate Chip Cookie Mix 1 beaten egg ½ cup melted butter
In bowl, mix egg and butter together. Add contents of bag and mix thoroughly. Work into soft dough. Form dough into 1″ balls and place on greased baking sheet about 2″ apart. Bake at 350°F for 10-12 minutes. Cookies will look light in color. Take out of oven and let cool for 15 minutes.
Yield: about 24 cookies.
