Hobonichi Hon A5- Tomitaro Makino: Yamazakura

The Hobonichi Techo HON has the same contents as the Techo Cousin A5 book, but does not require a separate cover. The hardcover design that makes it feel like a favorite book.

The HON A5 book features a page per day, plus weekly pages which track a week in each two-page spread, and a handy time schedule. It is made with fountain pen-friendly Tomoe River paper and has a lay-flat binding.

The cover design features a botanical illustration by botanist Dr. Tomitaro Makino. “Yamazakura,” means “mountain cherry”. Dr. Tomitaro Makino’s drawing of the Yamazakura cherry tree as a symbolic Japanese plant is characterized by its dazzlingly detailed line drawings. The rough cloth cover is inspired from the image of a canvas.
